One invoice for the firm, whoever does the chasing. Adding a colleague within your plan's limit costs nothing, and the chases are a single shared allowance rather than a quota each — five people on Team draw on the same 500, in whatever proportion the month happens to take.
Almost nothing is gated behind a plan. Both autonomy modes, reply checking, upload links, chasing several people at once and the security features are in every one of them. The one exception is the Obtainr mark — a single muted line at the foot of your chase emails and upload page — which Team and Firm can switch off. Everything that affects the work is on every plan; the reason to be on a bigger one is that more of you are chasing more people.
Move up and both the new allowance and the new headcount apply immediately, with Stripe prorating the difference for the rest of the month. There is no per-chase charge on top of the plan, and there never has been.
What you get
The same product on every plan, bar the branding line noted below. We're not going to make you buy a tier to get the security features.
- 100, 500 or 2,000 chases a month, shared across everyone on the plan.
- 1, 5 or 20 people, depending on the plan. Everyone sees and can act on every chase the firm is running, which is what makes covering for a colleague on holiday possible.
- Chasing several people for the same thing. One setup, one row in your list, a separate thread and upload link for each person. Ten people is ten chases.
- Your own mailbox. Gmail or Outlook over OAuth. Sent from your address, replies to your inbox.
- Reply checking. Every response read against the requirements you set, with what's outstanding reported back.
- Automatic follow-ups when a reply falls short, up to a turn limit you control (two by default, raise it whenever you like).
- A secure upload link on every chase. No account for your recipient. Links expire on completion or at 30 days.
- Both autonomy modes — fully automatic, or approval on every message, where you can edit it and choose whether Obtainr sends it or you do.
- Encrypted credentials at rest, and access limited to the thread a chase runs on.
- No charge for recipients. You pay for the plan, not the people being chased, and they never need accounts. The plan's allowance is the only thing that limits how many of them you can chase in a month.
- Your own branding on the upload page — your name, logo and colours, on every plan. Chases carry one muted line reading "Chased with Obtainr" at the very bottom, below your own name; Team and Firm can remove it.
One thing you'll need to bring
The AI is included in every plan — nothing to sign up for and no key to paste in. If you would rather your documents went to a provider account you control, you can bring your own key instead: Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
What a chase costs you
A chase is one job: one recipient, one set of requirements, however many follow-ups it takes to satisfy them. Not per email. A chase that takes six turns to get a complete set of statements is still one chase.
That works out at 49p a chase on Standard, 26p on Team and 17p on Firm — the bigger the plan, the less each chase costs, provided you use it. Someone spending twenty minutes a day writing reminders costs considerably more than any of those, and a file that closes a week earlier is worth more again.
Volume doesn't change the unit either. The same requirements from ten people is ten chases, because it is ten conversations to run and ten sets of replies to read. Adding them to one chase together makes the setting-up quicker, not the charge smaller.
How quickly an allowance goes
100 chases is about five a day if you start them one at a time. Groups don't work like that: pasting in a thirty-person intake spends thirty chases the moment it sends, which is a third of a Standard month gone in one action. If you chase in groups, count the allowance in intakes rather than days — Standard is three thirty-person intakes a month, Team is sixteen, Firm is sixty-six — and pick the plan that covers your biggest month rather than your average one. Remember the allowance is the firm's, not each person's, so on Team those sixteen intakes are shared between everyone using it.
If it runs out, chasing pauses until the month resets or you move up a plan. Nothing is billed on top either way, and a group is checked in full before it starts, so it's refused whole rather than half-sent.
Pricing questions
Is it per user or per firm?
Per firm. One price covers everybody on the plan — Standard is one person, Team up to five, Firm up to twenty — and adding a colleague inside that limit costs nothing. The plan's chases are one shared pot rather than an allowance each: five people on Team draw on the same 500. The people you're chasing — clients, the other side, third parties — cost nothing and don't need accounts.
What happens if we outgrow the number of people on our plan?
Adding someone beyond the limit asks you to move up a plan first, and the change takes effect immediately — the invitation you were sending goes out straight after, and Stripe prorates the difference for the rest of the month. Nobody is ever removed for it: if you move back down to a plan smaller than your headcount, everyone keeps working and only adding stops until you're back inside it.
What exactly counts as a chase?
One recipient plus one set of requirements, from the first email to the moment the requirements are met or the turn limit is reached. Follow-ups within that job are included. Asking one client for ID and statements is one chase, even if it takes five emails. Asking two clients for the same thing is two.
If I need the same documents from ten people, what does that cost?
Ten chases. Volume doesn't change the unit: a chase is one recipient plus one set of requirements, so ten people is ten whether you set them up one at a time or add them all to one chase in a single action. Adding them together makes the setting-up quicker and nothing else. Obtainr checks your remaining allowance against the whole group before it starts, and refuses the lot rather than chasing six of them and stopping.
What does the free trial actually give me?
Fourteen days of the full product, on your own files — no sales call, no cut-down version. Connect a mailbox and run real chases. Nothing is charged during those 14 days, and you can cancel from settings at any point in them; the plan starts at the end of the trial if you haven't.
Is the AI included, or do I need my own key?
Included, in every plan — there is nothing to sign up for and no key to paste in. If you would rather the processing ran on a provider account you control, you can bring your own key instead: Anthropic, OpenAI, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, one field in settings, and it takes over immediately. That is a choice about where your documents are processed, not a cheaper tier — the price is the same either way.
What happens if we use up the month's chases?
Chasing pauses until the allowance resets or you move up a plan, and nothing is billed beyond the plan — there is no overage charge and there never has been. Moving up takes effect immediately, with Stripe prorating the difference for the rest of the month. A group is checked in full before it starts, so a group bigger than what's left is refused whole rather than half-sent. If your usage doesn't fit a plan, tell us and we'll set an allowance by hand.
Can we cancel, and what happens to our data?
Cancel any time from settings; you keep access to the end of the paid month. You can disconnect a mailbox whenever you like, which stops every chase running through it immediately. Upload links stop working when a chase completes or after 30 days, whichever is sooner, so nothing stays open after you've gone.
